Inprosec People & Talent: David Cotrofe

Today we interview David Cotrofe, People & Talent Officer at Grupo Inprosec. We hope you enjoy learning about his experience working at our company.

What is your role within Inprosec?

As a People & Talent Officer, my main activity is searching for and recruiting new profiles for our teams. On top of this, there is the retention of those who are already part of our teams, as well as managing everything related to their development: potential training, career plans…

What would you highlight about your role within the company?

The closeness to people and the opportunity to be, at the end of the day, the “first impression” that candidates have of our organisation. It carries responsibility, but being able to have that closeness is something I genuinely enjoy.

What has Inprosec meant for your professional career?

I would sum it up as a turning point. It has allowed me to make the leap into a sector that was completely new to me, leaving behind experiences in very different fields, as well as taking on a challenge that allows me to keep growing both professionally and personally.

How do you manage to balance your personal and professional life?

The truth is that I feel Inprosec doesn’t make it difficult at all — quite the opposite. Being able to work remotely 3 days a week, combined with flexible working hours, makes it very easy to organise the week both professionally and personally.

What do you value most about working at a company like Inprosec?

From a personal point of view, I would highlight the opportunity to join a sector that was new to me and that is growing and evolving rapidly. From a more general perspective, what I value most is the working environment. I believe there is a very collaborative and close-knit atmosphere, in which it is easy to work as a team and face day-to-day challenges with a positive attitude.

Tell us about an anecdote that has caught your attention during your time at Inprosec.

I’m one of those people who believes that any job involving direct contact with people is a goldmine of anecdotes. That said, I could highlight 2: one person who attached a plane ticket instead of their CV and, without a doubt, my favourite: someone who highlighted as a strength in a job interview that “I’m very good at getting around”.

As an employee of a company specialising in cybersecurity, what is your advice for any business owner who is just getting started with regard to their systems?

That they take the step of assessing it objectively. It is simply another branch of security. From my point of view, the key is to embed into the company culture the idea that having, for example, passwords written down on a piece of paper is just as reckless as leaving the keys in the door when you lock up your business.

What are your hobbies once the working day is over?

I really enjoy sport in the broadest sense of the word, although it’s true that I’m increasingly more focused on watching it than playing it. Beyond that, few things can match an afternoon barbecue with the people you enjoy spending time with.

Who do you “nominate” for us to interview next, and why?

I nominate José Daniel Caballero. Firstly, because he was one of the first new hires whose recruitment process I was involved in. Secondly, I think his story of how he ended up joining our team could be very interesting.
