The information collected through cookies may include the date and time of visits to the website, the different tabs you have viewed or the time you have spent on it, among other details.
This information may be used by the Website owner to manage user sessions, improve its content, make the Website more attractive, and properly place the content that interests visitors the most.

- Third-party cookies: These are sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a computer or domain not managed by the Website owner, but by another entity that processes the data obtained through cookies. This is the case, for example, of analytics cookies used by Google, or those used by social networks to offer the user the option to share or recommend content from our website on them.
According to the time period they remain active:
- Session cookies: These are designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a website. They are usually used to store information that is only of interest to keep for providing the service requested by the user on a single occasion (for example, a list of purchased products in an online store).
- Persistent cookies: With this type, the data remains stored on the terminal and can be accessed and processed for a period defined by the cookie controller, which can range from a few minutes to several years.
According to the intended purpose, cookies can be classified as follows:
- Technical cookies: These allow the user to navigate through a website, platform, or application and use the different options or services within, such as controlling traffic and data communication, identifying the session, accessing restricted areas, remembering items that make up an order, carrying out the purchase process, applying for registration or participation in an event, using security elements during browsing, storing content for video or audio distribution, or sharing content through social networks.
- Personalization cookies: These allow the user to access the service with some general predefined characteristics based on criteria on the user’s terminal such as language, type of browser used to access the service, regional settings from where the service is accessed, etc.
- Performance cookies: These allow you to adjust your browsing according to the preferences associated with the device in your generated visits.
- Geolocation cookies: Their main purpose is to adjust the content to the location of the connection device.
- Social media connection cookies: These collect session profile information through the chosen social network, which can be revoked according to the preferences set in the user’s own profiles. These cookies are set by the social media service providers, which have their own privacy policies for this purpose.
- Analytics cookies: These are first-party or third-party cookies that allow the identification of the connection device to measure connection time and visited content, mainly to measure performance and learn about browsing habits through the Website’s structure to optimize its design.
- Advertising cookies: These allow for the most efficient management of the advertising spaces displayed on a website, adapting the ad content to the requested service content or the use made of the website.
- Behavioral advertising cookies: These allow for the most efficient management of the advertising spaces displayed on a website. These cookies store information on user behavior obtained through continuous observation of their browsing habits, which allows the development of a specific profile to display advertising based on it.

Reference Legal Framework
The legal framework for the use of cookies is defined in Spain by Law 34/2002 on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSI), as well as by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 (General Data Protection Regulation) and the Organic Law on Data Protection and Guarantee of Digital Rights (LOPDGDD, Law 3/2018 of 5 December).
Regarding the use of cookies, paragraph two of Article 22 of the LSSI provides the following:
“2. Service providers may use data storage and retrieval devices on recipients’ terminal equipment, provided that they have given their consent after having been provided with clear and complete information on their use, in particular, on the purposes of the data processing, in accordance with Organic Law 15/1999 of 13 December on the Protection of Personal Data.
When technically possible and effective, the recipient’s consent to accept the data processing may be provided through the appropriate settings of the browser or other applications, provided that the recipient must configure them during installation or updating through an express action for this purpose.
The above shall not prevent possible storage or technical access solely for the purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network or, to the extent strictly necessary, for the provision of an information society service expressly requested by the recipient.”
In the GDPR, cookies are mentioned in Recital 30, before the articles of the Regulation:
(30): “Natural persons may be associated with online identifiers provided by their devices, applications, tools, and protocols, such as Internet protocol addresses, session identifiers in the form of ‘cookies’ or other identifiers such as radio frequency identification tags. This may leave traces which, in particular when combined with unique identifiers and other information received by the servers, may be used to create profiles of the natural persons and identify them.”
Thus, when cookies can identify an individual, they are considered personal data, just like an IP address.
The LOPD establishes in Article 6.1, regarding consent for the processing of personal data:
“1. In accordance with Article 4.11 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, ‘data subject’s consent’ means any freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous indication of the data subject’s wishes by which he or she, by a statement or by a clear affirmative action, signifies agreement to the processing of personal data relating to him or her.”
