Inprosec People & Talent: Brais Taboada

Today we interview Brais Taboada, SAP Security and GRC consultant at Grupo Inprosec. We hope you enjoy hearing about his experience working at our company.

What is your role within Inprosec?

I hold the position of SAP Security and GRC consultant. My daily work is mainly devoted to ensuring the maintenance and GRC support for a specific client, while also collaborating on projects for other clients.

What would you highlight about your role in the company?

The close relationship with clients and their teams helps me work more effectively and smoothly. Dealing with all kinds of incidents makes my routine dynamic, and I never stop learning. In that sense, getting into SAP security is proving fascinating: GRC’s ability to digitalise and adapt access management shows the real impact and the value we deliver.

What has Inprosec meant for your professional career?

Joining Inprosec has been a strategic turning point and a major boost to my career. I come from a degree in Economics and from working in the banking and administrative sector, which gave me a solid grounding in process management and organisation. Moving into cybersecurity consulting, however, has allowed me to apply that analytical outlook in a critical technological environment. These first 8 months have been an intensive learning experience in which I have discovered the true importance of governance, risk and compliance (GRC) in today’s business landscape.

How do you manage to balance your personal and professional life?

I consider the hybrid model in place at Inprosec to be a great decision, especially in cases like mine where I don’t live in the same city as the offices. Having part of the working day flexible also makes it much easier to organise tasks and to genuinely balance professional and personal life.

What do you value most about working for a company like Inprosec?

I would say that in these first months what has surprised me most, and what I value most, is the calibre of my colleagues: they are outstanding professionals, and that motivates me to keep growing and learning from them.

Tell us about an anecdote from your time at Inprosec that caught your attention.

What struck me most at the beginning was the onboarding process. Moving from the banking and administrative sector into cybersecurity, I expected a much more rigid or complex adjustment. However, my colleagues’ willingness to explain the ins and outs of GRC and the team’s approachability made the transition extremely natural and motivating, completely exceeding my initial expectations.

As an employee of a company specialising in cybersecurity, what advice would you give to any business owner who is just starting out regarding their systems?

My advice is that designing a clear, restricted permissions structure from the outset prevents bad internal practices and builds a solid foundation on which the company can scale securely and competitively.

What are your hobbies once the working day is over?

Right now my biggest hobby is spending time with my daughter, who recently turned one, and I use what little time I have left to do some sport and meet up with friends.

Who do you “nominate” for us to interview next, and why?

I nominate Cecilia, a colleague who joined on the same day as I did, so we can hear what she thinks of this great team.
