Although there is growing awareness of the need to protect personal information online, the precautions taken by individuals remain insufficient.

According to the Norton Cyber Security Insights report, 18% of reported cybercrime cases are for sharing passwords with others, followed by hacking emails and hacking accounts on social networks.

This alarming lack of concern is often directly related to weak password management and the ingenuity of some users to phishing, while ransomware accounted for 6% of the reported cases.

The study also reveals that 35% of users have at least one unprotected device, the main reasons being that they do not believe they need protection or think that they do nothing risky online.
