Inprosec People & Talent: Raúl Pérez

Today we interview Raúl Pérez, head of sales department support at Grupo Inprosec. We hope you get to know his experience working at our company.

What is your role at Inprosec?

I am currently the head of sales department support at Grupo Inprosec. I am responsible for the financial health of the area and for supporting client management, with a focus on operational efficiency, optimizing processes so that the sales team can concentrate on what they do best — selling!

What would you highlight about your role within the company?

What I would highlight most is the cross-functional perspective my position gives me. I have the opportunity to view the business from three different angles: the reality of the group, the state of the market, and the operational side of the sales process. This allows me to act as the real link between strategy and execution, ensuring that the company’s objectives translate into efficient processes and tangible day-to-day results.

What has Inprosec meant for your professional career?

Inprosec has been the starting point of my professional journey. Here I have been able to make the transition from academic theory to a practical environment, going from balancing my studies with work to now being fully integrated into the team. That vote of confidence and the opportunity to grow within the company’s structure is something I value enormously.

How do you manage to balance your personal and professional life?

For me, work-life balance is one of Inprosec’s greatest strengths. The flexibility the company offers us allows us to balance both worlds in the best possible way, enabling me to make the most of time that, in other environments, would be considered wasted.

What do you value most about working at a company like Inprosec?

I mainly value two things. First, the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of such a dynamic and cutting-edge sector as cybersecurity, in a constantly evolving environment that demands continuous learning to avoid falling behind. Second, the human factor. At Inprosec you are not just a number — you are a person. I would highlight the excellent atmosphere and the close-knit relationships within the team, as well as the flexibility I mentioned earlier, which makes a big difference in day-to-day life.

Tell us an anecdote that stood out to you from your time at Inprosec.

Although I have very fond memories of lunches and dinners with the group, my favourite moment was the celebration of the company’s 15th anniversary. Together with my colleague Yoel, we spent a great deal of time on the organisation. It was a challenge with quite a few hurdles, and for me it felt like a kind of personal ‘exam’ to prove I was capable of delivering what had been assigned to me.

When the day finally came, I remember the nerves at the start, getting everything ready at the venue from early on, but as soon as the event began and I saw everything flowing as planned, I gradually relaxed. Everything went perfectly, the weather held up, and it ended with an incredible festive atmosphere. Having so many colleagues come up to congratulate me was an amazing feeling.

As an employee of a company specialising in cybersecurity, what is your advice for any entrepreneur just starting out regarding their systems?

My main advice would be not to underestimate information security, especially in the current landscape and what is yet to come. It is essential to give it the importance it deserves from the very beginning, always relying on the expertise of professionals and maintaining good basic practices — even if minimal — bearing in mind that they are not a cost but a necessary investment for business continuity and to avoid having to face critical consequences in the future.

What are your hobbies after the working day?

After work, I enjoy going to the gym, walking outdoors when the weather allows, and above all spending time with my friends and partner. I also have a goal to get back into basketball, a sport that has been part of my life since I was young — let’s see if I can find a slot in my schedule!

Who do you “nominate” for us to interview next, and why?

I nominate Gabri, a great colleague and friend at Inprosec. He joined the company shortly after I did, so we have shared a large part of this professional journey together. I am sure he has a very interesting perspective to offer.
