Today we interview Raquel Gil, Director of the People & Talent area. We hope you get to know her experience working at our company.
What is your role at Inprosec?
I am the Director of the People & Talent area, focused, as the name suggests, on the people who make up the team. My responsibilities cover everything related to their professional development, training, workplace culture, and compensation and benefits, as well as attracting new talent — a real challenge in the tech sector.
What would you highlight about your role in the company?
I would highlight the direct contact with the team and everything I get to learn from such diverse profiles. Also the impact my work has on people: every action or decision is team-oriented, and the feedback we receive in the department is very enriching and motivating.
What has Inprosec meant for your professional career?
For me it has been a significant change, as it has allowed me to focus on people development. In previous roles I had taken on a more generalist position. On top of that, joining the cybersecurity sector — with such diverse and specialised profiles — has been a very enriching challenge.
How do you manage to balance personal and professional life?
I try to keep a very clear structure around my schedule and my family’s schedule, but unexpected things always come up — and thanks to flexible working hours and remote work, I manage to handle them.
What do you value most about working at a company like Inprosec?
On a professional level, being able to work at a leading company in its field, and in such a dynamic environment as cybersecurity. But above all, the incredibly diverse team that makes up the company and their quality as people — the working atmosphere is very enjoyable and collaborative.
Tell us an anecdote that stood out to you during your time at Inprosec.
I remember the first time I had to interview someone for the SAP Security area: I barely understood anything they were saying — it was very technical language. Luckily, my colleagues were very patient with me and helped me get familiar with key concepts so I could better understand these kinds of profiles.
As an employee of a cybersecurity-focused company, what advice would you give to any entrepreneur starting out regarding their systems?
Don’t underestimate the risks that a failure in this area can cause, and seek advice from specialised professionals from the very beginning.
What are your hobbies after the workday?
I love spending time with my children, discovering new places and, whenever I can, enjoying the outdoors. I have also recently got back into the habit of reading, which I had neglected for a while — and in summer, the beach is a must.
Who do you “nominate” for us to interview next and why?
I nominate Jorge Mario Pérez Bac so we can all get to know him a little better.
