Interview with Paula Oliveira

Today at Inprosec Human Capital we introduce you to Paula Oliveira Núñez, SAP Security & GRC consultant of the Inprosec team.

What is your function within Inprosec?

I belong to the SAP department, where I work as a SAP & GRC Security Consultant in different projects and services for end customers. Besides that, I am also involved in different strategic internal projects of the company.

What would you highlight about your role in the company?

I could highlight the diversity of projects and tasks I am involved in. Every day is a continuous learning and a new challenge where it is impossible to get bored, which for me is a motivation, as I love to learn new things and get out of the routine. Being able to then apply that knowledge in a way that can be useful is something I find rewarding. Besides, being able to get involved with different end clients allows you to get to know their different ways of working and learn to adapt to different situations based on their needs.

What has Inprosec meant to your professional career?

In my professional career it has meant a before and after because it has allowed me to enter the world of SAP. I had never worked in this sector before and Inprosec has allowed me to train in this area, which has been of great interest to me, giving me the necessary support and opening doors to different opportunities for professional improvement.

How do you manage to reconcile your personal and professional life?

The semi-flexible schedule offered by Inprosec, in addition to the free afternoons on Fridays, make this reconciliation much easier. Also, this, together with the possibility of teleworking, allows me to manage my time more easily.

Tell us an anecdote that has caught your attention at some stage in Inprosec.

In my case I consider as an anecdote my beginnings at Inprosec, since I just started working at the beginning of my forties. Before I started, I was very excited about the new job, what it would be like, getting to know my colleagues, etc… Due to COVID, I started teleworking, so I knew practically no one in the company in person and it was a curious situation to say the least.

In the end I ended up meeting everyone at a voluntary event held by the company (this year virtually) called InproBeers, where all the departments of the company attend, we all get to know each other a little and have a good time together.

Even when I started teleworking, I can say that I had a very good welcome from my colleagues and support for any questions or problems that might arise.

What do you value most about working for a company like Inprosec?

Among other things, I think that the good working environment is something important. The support among colleagues and being able to work comfortably as a team makes the days more bearable. In addition, the professional development offered by the company and the opportunity to grow and learn is a point to take into account.

As an employee of a company that specializes in cybersecurity, what is your advice to any entrepreneur who is starting out with respect to their systems?

I would say that one of the important factors in cybersecurity is people, so it is important that both the entrepreneur and his employees are aware of what this entails. In addition, it is necessary to assess the needs in each case and take into account that in the current moment in which we live technology evolves very quickly so it is necessary not to leave security aside and keep updating.

What are your hobbies at the end of the working day?

Well, besides the typical things like meeting friends and having a drink, I like movies and series, swimming, board games or video games, listening to music etc.. I also like to travel a lot (although now it’s complicated) and be in contact with nature, where lately I take the opportunity to do some hiking on weekends.

Who do you “nominate” to interview next and why?

I nominate my partner Brath Miraz, with whom I’m working on several projects lately and who has been with the company longer, so I’m sure he can tell us interesting tidbits.
