For more than 30 years, the RSA Conference<\/strong> has been driving the global cybersecurity agenda<\/strong>, a place that connects professionals from around the world to share their experiences, learn from their “competitors” and grow from their attendance; creating connections between companies<\/strong> that until now barely connected, let alone collaborated.<\/p>\n

The growth of cyber-attacks in multiple aspects of daily life has made the cybersecurity sector continue to grow, making the relevance of the sector multiply over the years. So the RSA Conference will help its attendees stay ahead of cyber threats by sharing the experiences of all attendees.<\/p>\n

History<\/h1>\n

RSA’s beginnings date back to 1991<\/strong>, when the event was held as a small cryptography<\/strong> conference. The name of the conference (RSA) refers to a public key encryption technology developed by RSA Data Security, Inc.<\/p>\n

The first edition had only one panel called “DES and DSS: Standards of Choice,” which focused on why attendees should not adopt DSS, a standard that had the potential to challenge RSA Data Security’s status as the market leader in digital signatures.<\/p>\n

The conference grew steadily from its inception, amassing more than 200 attendees in 1993. Gradually, the event became more business-oriented<\/strong>, which led to competition problems, as, for example, European companies could not get a booth as easily as an American one, so they hired people to hand out flyers at RSA to get attendees to visit them in surrounding hotels.<\/p>\n

Subsequently, by 1997, the number of attendees had grown to 2,500, and 3 years later, in 2001, the first European RSA was held<\/strong>. In 2005<\/strong>, the conference underwent its biggest change of focus, moving from cryptography to all areas of cybersecurity, with Microsoft CEO Bill Gates as the keynote speaker<\/strong>. In 2008, RSA already had 17,000 attendees and 375 cybersecurity service providers.<\/p>\n

Nowadays<\/h1>\n

The RSA Conference had already achieved absolute global notoriety, being in 2010 the place where the Obama administration presented the CNCI<\/strong> (Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative), kept secret until then.<\/p>\n

The growth of the event was already unstoppable, with RSA Asia-Pacific being held in 2013 and RSA in the UAE in 2015<\/strong>. As of 2017, it is estimated that RSA USA attendees totaled 40,000 attendees<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Currently, as we mentioned earlier, the event is held each year in 4 different venues: USA, Europe, Asia and UAE; hosting in turn educational programs, networking and awards.
