Today we’re interviewing Julia Garc\u00eda<\/b>, SAP Consultant at Grupo Inprosec. We hope you enjoy learning about her experience working with us.<\/p>\nWhat is your role within Inprosec?<\/h3>\n
I currently work as a Junior SAP Consultant, and honestly, no two days are the same. Lately I’ve been focused on two key projects that are helping me grow and learn a great deal: I’m taking part in the redesign of a role model and implementing new regulation within SAP Process Control. I also provide support on a ticket resolution service, which makes my day-to-day incredibly dynamic \u2014 routine simply doesn’t exist.<\/p>\n
I’d highlight how agile and versatile you need to be. Combining project work with the ticketing service means my role constantly demands that I switch gears. Handling incidents for various clients at once forces you to think quickly, be resourceful, and learn to manage your time so you can prioritise effectively and avoid getting stuck.<\/p>\n
For me, it’s meant, above all, a great opportunity and a real boost. I came from a period where I felt a bit stuck, without a clear sense of direction professionally, and here I’ve been given the confidence to build a career in an area that genuinely motivates and engages me.<\/p>\n
With the hybrid model and summer working hours, balancing things becomes much easier. I really enjoy working from home and spending more time with my loved ones and pets, but I also appreciate having the option to go into the office whenever I like. Having that freedom to change scenery while still seeing the team face to face is the best of both worlds.<\/p>\n
Without a doubt, teamwork and feeling like I add value. At Inprosec, that synergy is genuine, and it shows in the quality of our service. I really value knowing that if I get stuck on something, I have colleagues ready to help me straight away, and that I can also do my bit when they need me. I think that’s the big lesson: you always need to help, but you also need to know how to ask for help. On that note, support from the team leaders is key: they give you a lot of focus when you’re starting out, and when it comes to making difficult decisions, having their experience as a reference gives you real confidence.<\/p>\n
In my first few months, I logged in when I got home from the office to get a head start on something. Suddenly, I received an urgent email from Iago, our CEO, and out of rookie nerves, I replied straight away. That very week, we’d been running phishing simulation drills. A second later I realised my mistake and thought: “That’s it, I’ve fallen for the simulation.” I went into complete panic mode: I reported the email, alerted the whole IS team, and did who knows what else. The worst part was realising it was a real phishing attempt, not a drill. At the time I wanted the ground to swallow me up over the fuss I caused, but now I find it funny looking back on how green I was at the start.
\nThis taught me the importance of reviewing access as a whole, rather than simply granting whatever permission is requested.<\/p>\n
Speaking from my own field, my main piece of advice is to build security in from the ground up, rather than treating it as an afterthought. On one hand, defining a solid role model from the outset is key to maintaining clarity, ensuring segregation of duties, and avoiding internal risks. On the other, relying on tools like SAP Process Control makes all the difference. You go from doing manual reviews to having all your controls centralised on the platform, following an automated workflow. Having everything recorded and traceable takes away daily headaches and gives you real peace of mind when it comes to audits.<\/p>\n
In summer, my main plan has been to spend as much time as possible in the water. The rest of the year I mix things up to switch off: I do CrossFit, go on trips in my camper van, and also make time to unwind by drawing and taking photos.<\/p>\n
