Today we interview Pedro Jim\u00e9nez, SAP Consultant at Grupo Inprosec.<\/span> We hope you enjoy learning about his experience working at our company.<\/p>\n

What is your role within Inprosec?<\/h3>\n

My main role is that of SAP Consultant, focused on access security. On a day-to-day basis I handle the implementation of SAP GRC Access Control, working with the ARA, ARM and EAM modules, support in the remediation of Segregation of Duties (SoD) risks, transaction analysis and the updating of risk matrices. I also take part in role redesigns following standards and best practices, with the aim of optimising user access and reinforcing the security of systems.<\/p>\n

What would you highlight about your responsibilities within the company?<\/h3>\n

What I highlight most is being able to see the direct impact your work has on the real security of an organisation. Every risk analysis, every role redesign, has a tangible consequence. On top of that, working with multinational clients means every project is different, and that forces you to be constantly learning and adapting.<\/p>\n

What has Inprosec meant for your professional career?<\/h3>\n

Inprosec has meant taking a clear step towards specialisation. I came from a stage where I worked on SAP GRC with a broader, more cross-cutting perspective, but here I have been able to truly delve into SAP security as a core discipline. It is an environment where the raw material is precisely what I am most passionate about, and that makes all the difference.<\/p>\n

How do you manage to balance your personal and professional life?
\n<\/b><\/h3>\n

The truth is that remote working helps enormously. Having a clear routine is absolutely key; I like to take breaks throughout the day and step outside for a few minutes to go for a walk, which is something as simple as it is effective for clearing your head and coming back with more energy. And in that respect, the flexible working hours that Inprosec offers have been a differentiating factor: being able to organise my day my own way has made the balance between the personal and the professional real, not just something that sounds good to say.<\/p>\n

What do you value most about working for a company like Inprosec?<\/h3>\n

The specialisation of the team. Being surrounded by people who have a thorough command of SAP Security means that learning is constant and that technical conversations reach a real level. To that I would add the flexible working hours and the possibility of remote working, which allow you to organise yourself better and perform more without sacrificing your personal life.<\/p>\n

Tell us about an anecdote that caught your attention in a situation during a stage at Inprosec.<\/h3>\n

When I joined, one of my first clients required working with Pathlock, an access governance and SoD risk management platform that extends the capabilities of SAP GRC. Although it shares logic with what I already knew, it has its own ecosystem and you have to understand it well in order to provide quality support. I set about learning it while juggling my day-to-day work and, in a short time, I was able to help both users and the client to use it with ease. I came away with a clear lesson: a solid technical foundation lets you adapt to any new tool much faster than you would imagine, and in consultancy that makes all the difference.<\/p>\n

As an employee of a company specialising in cybersecurity, what is your advice for any entrepreneur just starting out with regard to their systems?<\/h3>\n

That they should not treat security as something you configure once and then forget. In SAP, for example, it is very common for access rights to accumulate over time without periodic review, and that generates significant risks. My advice is that from the outset they work with a well-defined role model, with a clear separation of duties, and that they rely on specialists to help them understand what each access right they grant entails.<\/p>\n

What are your hobbies<\/em> once the working day is over?<\/h3>\n

I try to keep a good balance between physical activity, social life and continued learning. On the one hand, I go to the gym and play football matches regularly, since sport really helps you to switch off properly. On the other, I like meeting up with friends to have a drink and catch up, which is always good for recharging your batteries. And when I have a moment, I devote it to continuing to train, because in a sector like this there is always something new to learn.<\/p>\n

Who do you “nominate” for us to interview next, and why?<\/h3>\n

I nominate David Cotrofe Grela because I have known him since my very first day at Inprosec and we have had a very good relationship ever since. In addition, I think his perspective from Human Resources could be really interesting, since they have a cross-cutting view of the company that the rest of us sometimes don’t get to see, and it is worth having that reflected in this space.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
