Today we interview Rosa Mar\u00eda Casal Lage<\/strong>, IS and SAP Project Manager at Grupo Inprosec. We hope you enjoy learning about her experience working at our company.<\/p>\n

What is your role at Inprosec?<\/h3>\n

My role is Project Manager, and at its core everything revolves around people. I help manage projects in the IS and SAP area, always looking to connect all team members with each other and with the client, so that together we deliver exactly what the client needs and to the quality they expect. I am also currently very excited about a particularly significant project: we have been awarded the Industrial Cybersecurity Laboratory and Demonstration Centre of Amtega, an initiative that puts us at the forefront of industrial cybersecurity in Galicia.<\/span><\/p>\n

What would you highlight about your role within the company?<\/h3>\n

What defines me most in my day-to-day work is the ability to organise, plan and coordinate. Managing a team means always keeping the focus on people, both within the internal team and with the client. When projects end well and the client is happy, that is when you feel the work has been worthwhile.<\/span><\/p>\n

What has Inprosec meant for your professional career?<\/h3>\n

A radical change, without a doubt. I come from the world of telecommunications, where I worked for more than 16 years, so joining Inprosec has meant stepping out of my comfort zone. It has been an intense but enriching process of adaptation. Entering the world of cybersecurity has been a real discovery \u2014 it is a sector I find fascinating and in constant evolution.<\/span><\/p>\n

How do you manage to balance your personal and professional life?<\/h3>\n

The flexible working hours that Inprosec offers are, for me, a fundamental value. I am a mother, and being able to organise my time autonomously makes an enormous difference in daily life. Being able to keep up with both professional and personal demands without feeling like you are sacrificing one for the other is something I value enormously.<\/span><\/p>\n

What do you value most about working at a company like Inprosec?<\/h3>\n

I especially value three things. First, working in a cutting-edge, constantly evolving sector like cybersecurity. Second, the variety of projects \u2014 every project is different, every client has their own challenges, and that means no two days are alike. For someone like me who greatly values avoiding monotony, that is a gift. And third, the opportunity to keep growing professionally in an environment that continuously challenges and drives you forward.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tell us an anecdote that stood out to you from your time at Inprosec.<\/h3>\n

I have one that perfectly sums up my first few days! In the SAP department, the use of acronyms is\u2026 let’s say creative. I remember that shortly after joining, a colleague invited me to a meeting whose only title was “KT”. I was convinced it was one of the twenty thousand acronyms they use in SAP GRC \u2014 and it turned out to be Knowledge Transfer. We had a good laugh afterwards. Since then I always tell them they are very odd, that there is a difference between simplifying and speaking in code. Though I have to admit I have picked up the habit a little myself…<\/span><\/p>\n

As an employee of a company specialising in cybersecurity, what is your advice for any business owner just starting out with regard to their systems?<\/h3>\n

My advice is clear: do not take the protection of your systems lightly. We are seeing more and more news about companies that have suffered some kind of security incident, and the consequences can be devastating, including losses running into the millions.<\/span><\/p>\n

I love explaining it with the Formula 1 car metaphor: many people think cybersecurity is like the car’s brakes \u2014 something that slows you down when needed. But that is a mistake. The brakes on a Formula 1 car are there so the driver can go faster, safely. Without cybersecurity, a company cannot accelerate its digitalisation because the risk of crashing is too high. Invest in security from the start; it is what will allow you to grow with confidence.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are your hobbies after the working day?<\/h3>\n

I really like to switch off properly when I leave work. The gym is my release valve \u2014 it helps me let go of tension and recharge my energy. And of course, time with my family is my grounding force.<\/span><\/p>\n

Who do you “nominate” for us to interview next, and why?<\/h3>\n

I nominate my colleague Dani. He joined the company a little after me, he is in the SAP department and I am sure he has some very interesting things to share. I have no doubt his interview will be well worth it!<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
